The successful candidate will demonstrate skills in mentoring and coaching junior scientists by providing project and trial work direction. Effectively communicating and influencing upper management are also key skills for this role. In addition, the individual should have experience working with external customers in delivering a product that consistently meets customer performance expectations.
In this role you will:
- Lead the identification, selection, development, optimization, and scale-up of manufacturing processes for extract production including extraction, purification, evaporation and drying.
- Lead assessment and selection of processes to remove impurities and enhance concentration of primary active ingredient.
- Examine equipment and procedures proposed for the extract processing and confirm that capacity, process controls and operation are adequate to deliver performance consistent with requirements.
- Lead development of standard operating procedures and process specifications.
- Ensure equipment design and operational protocols can deliver on bioburden specifications.
- Work with lead EPC contractor throughout the final design, construction, installation, and commissioning process.
- Ensure necessary supporting work is completed to enable the EPC contractor to complete the project to the required specifications and quality.
- Identify risks and mitigation plans.
- Conduct all communications and transactions with the utmost integrity and honesty to build an unimpeachable business reputation. Ensure communication of project plans and results to partners, customers, and other team members.
- Contribute to an environment in which all team members are respected regardless of their individual differences and are motivated to improve both their individual and team contributions to achieve desired business results.
- Visibly demonstrate that safety is a value by following safety procedures, maintaining a safe workplace, and complying with safety rules. Develop equipment, processes, materials that meet safety codes, policies, and guidelines. Actively participate in achieving organization and personal safety objectives.
