The Customer Development Manager (CDM) develops, implements, & monitors plans towards the achievement of targets of their key accounts (Modern Trade). The incumbent has direct responsibility for achievement of sales targets of assigned customers. The CDM will contribute to the growth and operating results of the company by executing sales plans effectively and in a timely manner. This position directly reports to the Area Customer Development Manager

Role Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Develops, implements, and monitors plans towards the achievement of sales and distribution targets for their accounts.
  • Monitors Sales & Distribution of Kimberly-Clark’s core portfolio while looking for opportunities to drive growth and improvement for their area.
  • Works closely with their respective customers/ accounts through consistent alignments and business reviews to spot opportunities to build our brands.
  • Regularly conduct fieldwork to identify executional opportunities on the store level and to monitor in-store compliance to KC’s DPSM framework by partnering with our in-store personnel and merchandising partners.
  • Work with various cross-functional partners in delivering efficient order-to-deliver processes for their customers.
  • Maximize sales and manage the allocated Trade Fund to generate the desired profitable sales mix. 
  • Develop plans to address variation versus Budgets, provide demand forecast for responsible area. Develop and implement customer business plan in alignment with the area's strategic Sales, Marketing and Category plan.
  • To achieve Business Objectives of Operating Profit, Volume and Strategic Business Planning.
  • Processes customer’s promotional claims in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Inform all key stakeholders on trade and competitive intelligence and provide recommendations as they apply to assigned customers.
  • Participate in the full utilization and compliance with K-C mandated performance management process for all consumer sales staff (may include third party sales and merchandising teams).

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in distributor management in FMCG sales
  • Preferably with 1-2 years of experience in handling local key accounts / local chains
  • Strategic thinker with excellent skills in data analysis and time management
